Eat enough and keep it varied
It is important that you eat enough and that your diet is varied. Each food product contains different nutrients. The more diverse your diet, the greater the variety of nutrients and minerals your body takes in. Energy is another word for
kilocalories. Your body doesn’t function well if you don’t have enough energy. You want to prevent that, or your body will start using protein as a fuel source. Your body takes proteins from your arm and leg muscles and even your lung and heart muscles, and you need proteins to heal wounds and maintain your immune system. To build up strength, you must take in enough energy (kilocalories), proteins, vitamins, and minerals.
